Current Construction Alert I-215 / Newport Road Interchange
Upcoming Nighttime Full Freeway and Newport Road bridge Closures (August 15-19)
UPDATE 8/15/2016 2:30 PM: Due to stripping, Newport Bridge will be closed to East and West traffic every night this week. Drivers will still have access to the Southbound I-215 off-ramp tonight. However, SB I-215 will follow full freeway closures Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night this week.
As part of the ongoing construction, crews will be installing falsework on Newport Road bridge over the I-215 freeway lanes. For the safety of the traveling public, these activities will require nighttime full closures of the northbound and southbound freeway lanes at Newport Road to avoid working over live traffic. Closures are anticipated nightly Monday-Friday, August 15-19 from 10pm-6am.
Mainline traffic will be diverted to use the on- and off-ramps as temporary detours. Traffic on Newport Road will be diverted to use Scott Road. Signage will be present to direct motorists, cyclists and pedestrians. Please follow the signed detour routes.
